Getting Started

How do I get started?

It is important to provide you with a safe environment in which to exercise. For this reason, we require all clients to attend at least one private or duet session. During your private session, you will be familiarized with all of the equipment and the basic principles of Pilates. The goal of our private sessions is not to learn every exercise on every piece of equipment. But rather to become comfortable with the equipment and to give you a strong foundation on which to build in our group classes.

How do I schedule a private or duet session?

All private and duet sessions are by appointment only and are based on instructor availability. Appointments are available Monday-Thursday 8:00 AM-6:00 PM. Please call the studio at (707) 447-9750 option 3 to get scheduled.

May I observe a class before scheduling?

Yes. We encourage anyone to come in and observe our classes prior to getting started to see if Pilates is the right exercise for you. Let the instructor know you have come to observe the class.

What happens during my first private or duet session?

A strong foundation is key to your success and safety in any Pilates class. Pilates is not merely a collection of exercises, it is truly a method that follows carefully laid-out principles that have been refined over years of use and observation. For the Pilates Method to properly work for you, it is important to be familiar with its 6 basic principles from the beginning:

  1. Concentration
  2. Control
  3. Centering
  4. Precision
  5. Flowing Movement
  6. Breathing

How do I register on MINDBODY?

From our website, click on the orange "MINDBODY Online Scheduler" icon. This will link you to our online scheduler and payment system. If you have an account, login in the upper right corner with your email/username and password. If you do not have an account, click "Sign Up!" and you will be prompted to create an account.

Now that I'm registered on MINDBODY, how do I sign up for group classes?

To reserve a class, click on the "CLASSES" tab. Choose the class you would like to attend and click "Sign Up Now." You may make a single reservation by clicking "Make a single reservation" or multiple recurring reservations by selecting the start date and end date and clicking "Make a recurring reservation." 

How do I pay for classes?

Payments can be made on MINDBODY or in studio. We accept cash, check, or charge (Visa or Mastercard). To buy class packages online, click on the "ONLINE STORE" tab. Select the series type as "Pilates Classes." Select the package type you would like to purchase and follow prompts to complete your payment.
